Xenia Uranova / the archive of Jan Ebert
The photographic archive of a Warsaw electronics-engineer Jan Ebert (b. 1931) was uncovered by the artist-photographer Xenia Uranova. Her original selection of photographs focuses on 500 images from the nearly 3000 color slides made by Ebert from the early 1950s up till the late 1980s. A portion of the images haves been included in the “FotoRejestr” portal, while more are available at www.uranova.com
The slides were taken on Jan Ebert’s family holiday trips during which he explored both Poland and other parts of Europe. His interest spans various themes from leisure and sport, to nature, architecture, and historical events such as the funeral ceremony of father Jerzy Popiełuszko.
