Industrial Plants -T. Sumiński
The featured photographs show a relatively unknown part of the output of Tadeusz Sumiński, an outstanding landscape artist (1924-2009). These shots come from 1962-1964 when Suminski worked as full-time photographer for the Africa and Asia edition of “Polska” monthly. The leading subject – both in the magazine as well as in the artist’s archive from the period – is that of industry: one of the top-priorities of Polish economic policy. The photographs show, among others, the Wristwatch Factory in Błonie, a Tobacco Factory in Kraków’s Czyżyny, a Boiler Factory in Racibórz and the Steelworks in Warsaw.
